Too much to handle in one night. Not going to the World Series, last game at Busch Stadium, and last game on KMOX. I hate change anyway. And I'm in Iowa worried that next year I won't even be able to get the radio games. Life without Mike - unthinkable. So I'm just wandering around on the internet and found this blog. Maybe it will help me through the long winter until spring training.

You will need to keep the Cardinal info coming. Gosh, I wish Larry Walker could have had an incredible last bat! Dan, are you in St. Louis? And Pete - how expensive is XM radio? I was already irate that our cable company switched to Comcast that shows all the Cubs stuff - when we already get WGN here, so there were not many televised Cardinal games here this year.

My monthly XM bill is running a hair under $20/month, but that's for two radios (one for home, one for office); one radio would be around $15/month or or a bit less (estimated). Add to that (obviously) about $50-300 for the radio (and possibly home docking station or car adapter, depending on what radio you opt to buy and where you want to listen) and a roughly $15 one-time activation fee (which may be waived under certain circumstances). I recall reading (in the newspaper articles about KMOX losing the Cardinals) that there may be some special deal for Cards fans subscribing to XM, but don't quote me on that when you opt for XM.
The best thing is that, in addition to the MLB coverage (Cardinals home feed for home games; away team feed for away games), you'll also get tons of *commercial-free* music programming that's tons better (IMHO) than what's available on your local commercial broadcast stations (especially if, like me, your tastes in music are different than those of the majority of folks in the area you live in). And lots of other programming (talk, entertainment, comedy, sports, etc.) as well.
No, I don't work for XM, I'm just a *very* satisfied customer. :-)

I live in Springfield, IL, where we sort of get the new Cards station; it depends on where in town you are.
And I have XM, but the Cardinals games are really just a bonus. Jack Benny/Fibber McGee and Molly/The Adventures of Sam Spade on Old Time Radio are worth the money by themselves, not to mention all the music.
